Knowsley Safari is one of the largest visitor attractions in the North West. Opened in 1971, in its nearly 50 years, the safari park has expanded in both size and visitor numbers, now welcoming over 600,000 guests each year. Situated off junction 2 of the M57, Knowsley Safari is easily accessed from the major motorway network between Liverpool and Manchester.
Families enjoy a full day out combining the excitement of a Safari Drive with the adventure of the Foot Safari.
Without doubt, the 5 mile safari drive is number one on guest’s must-see list when visiting. It ranges over 500 acres of varied landscape and one of the largest breeding groups of southern white rhino in Europe. Guests can choose to drive the safari in their own car or experience the sights from a guided tour bus*. Every drive of the safari is unique, from morning to afternoon, transformed each season, you’re sure to see something new. The thrill of seeing iconic species such as rhino, lions, camel, herds of grazing antelope and deer is shared by the family of all ages.
Adventure on foot; guests arriving after their safari drive then explore the Foot Safari. The latest addition to the Foot Safari is the Amur Tiger Trail where guests can spot these endangered tigers in a fully mature wood with flowing stream and natural ponds. Become a wolf ranger at wolf country, discover evidence that a pack is in the area as you walk through the forest and be sure to look out for Iberian wolf sisters on your walk.
Don’t miss; giraffe, meerkats, tapir, a selection of rides perfect for young thrill seekers, miniature railway, boating lake, animal talks and displays from California sea lions and birds of prey.
