My Amazing Counting Adventure

Things To Do

posted January 15th 2019

One of our grandparents recently reviewed a book written by Dr Niamh, a grandparent herself, called ‘My Amazing Counting Adventure‘. Here’s what nanny Tina thought…

“I have read this book several times with my granddaughter who is 4. I found it a lovely book to read together as we can interact with the story together.

It is simply written and combines reading and counting, with colourful pictures. The story is written in rhyming fashion which makes it very easy for a child to pick up on the story.

It is a great book for learning to count as each page is a number from 1-10 and encourages clapping to the numbers. At the back of the book is another chance to learn to count.

It is a good sized book for little hands to hold.

The illustrations are great and again chance to count on each page

Since reading it together my granddaughter very often picks the book up and makes her own stories up following loosely the story pretending she is reading to a class of children and also counting with each page. She loves the book!

I would highly recommend this book as it is just long enough to keep their attention all the way through the story and is a perfect book to read together and to interact with each other.”
